About the role
This is a full-stack product engineering role where you own features end-to-end across frontend and backend systems. You'll work directly with customers to understand their problems, ship code frequently, and set technical direction within your product area. Our engineering team operates without product managers; technical leads work directly with customers and have significant autonomy in shaping and delivering solutions
What you'll own
- Design, build, and ship full-stack product features end-to-end across frontend and backend systems
- Engage directly with customers to understand their problems and incorporate feedback into product improvements
- Set technical direction and patterns within your product area
- Build intuitive interfaces and APIs that help users understand and trust AI-powered workflows
- Improve system reliability, performance, and scalability as the platform grows
Requirements
Must-have
- Strong full-stack proficiency in TypeScript, Node.js, React, and Next.js (TypeScript is non-negotiable; the two-day live work trial is built entirely in it, and Temporal is a plus)
Nice-to-have
- Track record of autonomy: can take a fuzzy customer problem and scope it into a project without detailed guidance
- 2+ years of professional engineering experience in startup or fast-paced environments (big tech tenure alone does not count)
- Based in New York (required for in-person work and to interact with government contractors on East Coast time)
- Computer engineering background or formal study in computer engineering prior to programming; signals engineering rigor
- Significant GitHub contribution history (1,500+ contributions per year or higher); demonstrates consistent shipping velocity
- Ex-founder or founding engineer at a Seed, Series A, or Series B startup; shows ability to operate with autonomy and customer focus
- Former D1 athlete; demonstrates discipline, pain tolerance, and time-management in high-intensity environments
