About the role

Founding Engineer role reporting directly to the CTO. You will own full-stack product development as the company scales its core platform and AI agent capabilities. This is high-ownership work in a fast-paced, high-intensity environment where you move from day one. The team is four engineers today; you will help define the architecture and shipping cadence as we grow.

What you'll own

• Orchestrate fleets of AI agents that coordinate patient recruitment across hundreds of clinical trials
• Build and optimize integrations into customer systems, including custom adapters for specific software versions
• Scale LLMs across voice, SMS, and email while maintaining conversation consistency and personalization
• Design AI agent workflows for domain-specific questions and calculations (e.g., BMI from height and weight)
• Develop scheduling and call-center management solutions for recruiters and clinical research coordinators
• Reverse-engineer legacy healthcare systems without public APIs to integrate with trial sites' existing stacks

Requirements

Must-have

• 0 to 6 years of engineering experience; ideally early-career or new graduate willing to move fast
• Ship production code daily in TypeScript, Python, or full-stack environments
• Extreme ownership: comfortable operating without a playbook and making high-stakes decisions with ambiguity
• Quant background (Jane Street, IMC, or similar) OR founding engineer experience at a top-tier startup OR deep competitive programming signal (Olympiad, ICPC)
• In-person at San Francisco office, 5 days per week; 9-to-9 intensity expected

Nice-to-have

• Track record of building and shipping something meaningful in production; green GitHub with recent commits
• Genuine technical depth demonstrated on calls; can explain your past work clearly and reason about unfamiliar systems
• Background from a top tech company (FAANG, frontier AI lab) where you shipped hard things
• Interest in healthcare infrastructure, clinical workflows, or healthcare systems integration
